ABOUT ME

I grew up with a lot of movement and play in my life. I was an active kid- an athlete, professional dancer, and performer. After college, as my dance career waned, I found Yoga and fell in love with the physical practice and the interconnected view yogic philosophy offered.

I teach from a somatically informed perspective, opting for awareness of breath and engagement of conscious actions in the body.  My classes will ask you to get curious about HOW it feels to move, and WHY certain actions are highlighted. We find new ways to move, new ways to ground and relax, new ranges to move into, and the strength required to find and sustain those new pathways in the body.

I completed my 500 hour Yoga teacher training in 2016 and am an E-RYT 500 certified Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.  In addition to countless hours of Yoga trainings and workshops, I am a certified practitioner of Somatic Release Technique and PNE (PsychoNeuroEnergetics). These somatic modalities are based on nervous system regulation and trauma release, which inform my classes. In December of 2023, I became a certified Personal Trainer through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), and am excited for the new tools and knowledge this certificate has afforded me.

I regard these practices as an invitation for us to become more resilient and more connected to our bodies, to our breath, to others, and to the world. It is my intent to provide a safe container for you to experience all the innate wisdom your body provides, as it leads us back into alignment with our heart and our true nature.
